 2023 Preview 


       R.C. Hatch completed the 2022 season with a 4-7 record. With their 3-3 region record and a fourth place finish in Class 1A region three, the Bobcats earned a spot in the playoffs in 2022. R.C. Hatch's season came to an end in the first round of the playoffs when they fell to Maplesville by a score of 55-8.

       The Bobcats have never won a playoff game in the school's history. They would like to break through and pick up that first post season victory in 2023.

       Since 2010, R.C. Hatch has gone a combined 41-89. Their 31.5% winning percentage ranks 47th in Class 1A over the past thirteen seasons.

       Over the past 25 seasons, R.C. Hatch has not won much with a record of 50-186. Their 21.0% winning percentage ranks 58th in Class 1A and 387th in the AHSAA. The Bobcats have struggled on the football field with only two winning seasons during this time.




       The Bobcats will be under the direction of new head football coach Eugene Foster as they enter the 2023 season.  

       Coach overall record as a head football coach in Alabama for four  stands at 0-35 (%).

       The Bobcats could find themselves challenging for one of the playoff spots for region three this season with a few breaks and a little improvement.

       The Bobcats open the 2023 season on the road against non-region opponent Autaugaville on Friday, August 25 at Eagles Nest Stadium. Last year the Autaugaville Eagles finished with an overall record of 6-5 and in fourth place in Class 1A region four. The Eagles lost in the first round of the Class 1A playoffs to Linden by a score of 54-8.

       R.C. Hatch and Autaugaville have met a total of 9 times on the football field. The Bobcats have a 3-6-0 record against the Eagles. They last met in 2022 with Autaugaville winning by a score of 24-18.
